Researchers from the MOM Group—Laura Caliò, Juan Galisteo, and Francisco Javier Coto—recently participated in the outreach initiative Science in the Neighborhood (Ciencia en el Barrio), where they delivered the workshop “Can We Transform Energy from Red Berries?” for students from IES Azahar in Seville. During the workshop, students discovered how natural pigments extracted from red berries can be used in solar cells to convert sunlight into electricity. Through hands-on activities and demonstrations, they explored key concepts in renewable energy, photovoltaics, and sustainable technologies. The initiative aimed to bring scientific research closer to society, fostering curiosity and encouraging young students to engage with science, technology, and the development of clean energy solutions for the future.
