Mauricio E. Calvo is a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a member of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). He works at the Multifunctional Optical Materials Group at the Institute of Materials Science of Seville. His main research interest focuses on the development of synthetic methods of nanostructured materials (metals, semiconductors, dielectrics) for different applications, such as radiation protection or optoelectronic devices.
